Memories of the Lakeland 3000ers in 2007

On Ullock Ridge on the way to Skiddaw
On the summit, rather cool and breezy
Up from Dodd this time; it was TOO windy for Ullock
(and for taking photos on the top)
A great August day onCatstyecam
followed by a super scramble up Swirral Edge to the top of Helvellyn
From the summit it was down to Striding Edge
and a "stride" along the top of the ridge

Scafell pike was the most popular outing of the year - anything from 1 or 2 people to families or groups of 10 or so.

Usually we ascended from Seathwaite to Styhead; along the Corridor route to Lingmell Col and up to the summit. From here it is along the ridge past Broad Crag and Great End down to Esk Hause followed by a descent of Grains Gill.

Occasionally we ascended from Wasdale via Hollow Stones returning via Corridor Route and Styhead.

Here is a selection of the views on the ascents

Enjoying the Corridor route
Up through Hollow Stones from Wasdale
The final stretch, up from Lingmell Col
Nearly at the top, with Kirkfell and Gable beyond
Cathy with a group on the summit
More views across Wasdale
-and again - its surprising how often the sun shone for us!
View of Great Gable on a fantastic day in late October
Boulder hopping past Broad Crag - you need confidence and a good sense of balance!
Down by Grains Gill to Seathwaite and a cup of tea!
This time down by Lingmell Beck to Wasdale and a well earned pint!
